SENIORS: One senior student will represent the Reservoir Art & Photo department by speaking at the awards ceremony. Speakers show 5 works and deliver a 5 minute speech about their work. We will audition for the part at school. Interested candidates should see Mr. Borja as soon as possible.
Your speech should fit between 4 - 6 minutes. Consider some of the following elements for your speech:
-Introduction
-Flowing explanation of your work selected (have a common thread that connects your selections)
-Strong descriptive vocabulary
-What artists/photographers inspire you
-Future plans
-Some people use personal stories, some use humor, some use strong conceptual thinking and philosophies...decide on the tone of your speech. Figure out how to captivate the audience. Throwing a laugh or a smile or two in can help connect to the audience...but don’t force it. Be unique, be clever, but most of all be yourself!
Here are three previous RHS speakers:
Megan Armstrong ’11 - VIDEO
Raissa Rosenbaum ’10 - VIDEO
Aubrey Hopkins ’09 - VIDEO
Seniors will present their speeches to Mr. Borja and Mr. English for review and selection. Good luck!
