Artist Statement: An artist’s statement is a brief narrative by the artist that describes their body of work and its meaning. Your artist statement should summarize your work produced so far this year and keep to a maximum of 300 words. Write in general terms about the entire body of your work, not just a single specific piece.
Things to potentially address in your statement:
1. What have you been interested in exploring this year?
2. What master artist mentors have been an influence on your work?
3. Talk about the technical process of making your work and the meaning/theme and ideas behind the work.
4. What are you planning to do with art in the future?
AP Addition:
What is the central idea of your concentration?
How does the work in your concentration demonstrate the exploration of your idea? Refer to your work.
Write this as a word document and copy&paste it into your Collection Description.
Graded on: Responding to the prompt with cohesive thoughts and structure. Spelling and Grammar.
